    Choreolab is a two-weeks intensive Workshop for mid-career artists.

    A pair of international artists are invited to share their practice with a group of working artists from all over the world.

    = Leading artists
    1st week : Jung In Lee (Korea)
    daily practice, intensive dance experience & art creation – for young professionals
    Attack, Attack, Attack, tak, tak, tak, tak.....
    „Let's get physical" – we will research how to transform negative sensations or emotional impact into productive movement. From fight club to dance club and vice versa.
    Process: „Emotion becomes a motion"
    try to find negative, sensitive emotions under the past or present experience. And we control the feelings by imagination. 2. Recreate and simulate imagination for movement research-approach the movement research as restrict body activity. But through the practice of emotion control, so we only doing emotion-action from controlled feeling. 3. Try to find new direction with partnering and composition- attack back, defense, physical fight.

2nd week : Iris Heitzinger (Austria)
    This Choreolab is about real time Improvisation and Composition, based on the diversified language of contemporary Dance and Performance Art. We will be working with different „Scores“, which deal with Space, Time, Movement, Rhythm and Action. The performers will experience themselves as creative and active participants of the Situation, which will be created live in the group. At the beginning there will be very simple structures, which will get more and more complex. In doing so, we will be able to create clear proposals and at the same time stay open to the reactions of the others. Out of the sum of all Ideas, there can turn out a Kaleidoscope of possible Situations and Experiences. During the process we will experience the potential of our imagination and the essential input of every single member of the group.


    Fees for the ChoreoLabs#1: 400 € //ChoreoLab#2: 400 € // combination of ChoreoLab is possible, combination fee: 600 € // small amount of scholarships available - reduced fee of 150 € per ChoreoLab or 200 for both weeks (only if suitable for sholarship) - individual agreements optional in urgent cases

    Masterclasses for young professional dancers and choreographers

    These workshops for young professionals are a great opportunity to work with some of the extraordinary companies performing at Festspielhaus St. Pölten during the season 2018/2019. The masterclasses focus either on a special artistic approach, a certain technique or various choreographic tools. But most importantly, they provide an ideal setting to sharpen your skills, really get in touch with the international artists and enlarge your personal network!

Mei Hong Lin zeichnet ein komplexes Frauen-portrait der jüngsten Tochter Maria Theresias. Der Komponist Walter Haupt ist Erfinder der Linzer „Klangwolke“.

    In "Caída del Cielo" nimmt das Enfant Terrible des Flamenco Rocío Molina die Zuschauer mit auf eine berauschende Reise, in der sie sich von unschuldigen Momenten berückender Schönheit in einen schwindelerregenden Abgrund stürzt und sich keinen Moment der Ruhe gönnt. Es ist die Reise einer Frau, nein, die Reise aller Frauen durch das Leben, das in vollen Zügen gelebt werden muss, sonst ist es vergebens. Mit ihren vier hervorragenden Musikern, Pablo Martín-Jones, José Ángel Carmona, Eduardo Trassierra und El Oruco, überschreitet sie alle Grenzen, sie holt den Flamenco aus seiner Komfortzone und sie akzeptiert nur eine Maxime: Es ist verboten zu verbieten.
